Sloppy Joes

4 servings

  • 4 whole wheat buns, split, toasted
  • 1 1/4 pounds Ground Skinless Turkey Breast
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 15 oz. can canned tomato sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard

Spray a large non-stick skillet with vegetable oil spray. Heat over medium heat, add turkey, onion, green bell pepper, and celery. Cook and stir until vegetables are tender and turkey is lightly browned.

Stir in tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar and mustard. Reduce heat to low. Cook 25 to 30 minutes until most of the liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.

Serve over lightly toasted hamburger buns
