Peanut Butter Spread 

Makes 1 1/2 to 2 cups

  • 1 cup peanut butter, fresh unsalted
  • 1/4 cup dry roasted sunflower seeds
       (or sesame seed), ground
  • 1/2 cup raisins, (or chopped dates)
  • 3 Tablespoons honey, (or molasses
       or applesauce)
  • 1 dash salt, (unless seeds are salted)

Mix all ingredients. If you have applesauce on hand, use it in place of the honey or molasses. The amount can vary with your preference. This makes a lighter-textured spread with a marvelous flavor.

Suggestion: Spread some in pita bread.
